Bringing a complete offering to Biofach 2108

Published: Tuesday, 06 February 2018

We specialise in the manufacture and supply of pure, organic, fair trade essential and cold pressed vegetable seed oils and our expert team are bringing knowledge of the whole supply chain to this year’s Biofach exhibition.

With ethical, fair and sustainable trade at our heart, we bring Carbon Zero and FSSC2200 certification to the table, as well as a wealth of processing knowledge. Visitors to this year’s Biofach will be able to meet our team and understand how the company’s unique approach, centred around three core pillars, can truly add value.

We produce natural oils using ingredients that are ethically sourced from small scale farms around the world. With our commitment to both organic farming and fair trade principles, customers can be assured that they are partnering with a truly ethical supplier.

In all of its community grower projects, the organisation is involved from the ground up – in the selection of planting material, the cultivation methods, harvesting and processing – having a long term and trusting relationship with everyone it works with.

We proudly manufacture from soil to oil. With our own manufacturing facilities in Kenya, we use cold pressing techniques to extract pure oil to the highest customer specification.

Our expert team on the ground understand how to utilise the ideal processes and technologies to produce ethically processed oils to the highest possible standard.

We supply our oils to customers all over the world. We produce both orange and conventional grades of oil and have also recently become a carbon neutral organisation. By working in partnership with our customers, our expert team work tirelessly to ensure needs are met and meaningful solutions are delivered.

Samoa - Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

Published: Thursday, 31 August 2017

The Coconut Craze

Coconut has been one of the hottest ingredients this year and its popularity shows no signs of slowing. It grows prolifically across tropical and sub-tropical parts of the world and its oil has been used as an ingredient in personal care, both as a skin moisturiser and hair conditioner for hundreds of years.

As it continues to gather pace in new product launches, we look at where it’s sourced from.

Sustainable Sourcing

Earthoil supports a virgin coconut oil project in Samoa, run by a not-for-profit women’s foundation. This unique venture is aimed at rebuilding the economic independence of individual villages across the region. The foundation currently works with many family groups, with several virgin coconut oil (VCO) sites already up and running. This means any profit generated from the sale of this material returns to the village and the people within the community.

This week the Javits Convention Center in New York City hosted the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Supplier’s Day trade show event. New water tanks for our Tea Tree Farmers in Kenya

Published: Thursday, 01 September 2016

Earthoil is committed to helping improve the lives of those who are involved with our projects - the 600 + farmers and their families, who work together to decide how fair trade premiums are used.

We are excited to have helped deliver 40 new 3000ltr water tanks to its Tea Tree Farmers in Kenya. The farmers are members of the Kenya Organic Oil Farmers Association (KOOFA) and are the first to benefit from the three year project that will see water tanks issued to all of the 615 farmers they are hoping to support. Over 2000 family members will eventually utilise the new water tanks, hoping to put extra time that is usually used to fetch water into other activities.

Earthoil, the personal care and cosmetics ingredients division of Treatt, offers a range of pure, organic, fair trade and natural essential oils.

Earthoil is committed to offering low-allergen ingredients and works to reduce the problems personal care manufacturers face in using essential oils. With consumers increasingly seeking safer and ethically sound personal care products, allergen levels create fresh opportunities for manufacturers worldwide to differentiate cosmetics and fragrances.

The African operations of Earthoil Plantations Ltd. are now certified carbon neutral. Over three months, the Earthoil team has donated and installed more than 45 stoves in 19 communities across three counties. Its staff has also delivered in excess of 600 hours of training to 46 families.

Earthoil has taken a massive step towards further improving its credentials by neutralising its carbon emissions in Kenya. Its customers value sustainability very highly, so this is a significant step for the growing business.
