This February, we returned to exhibit at Biofach, the World’s Leading Trade Fair in Organic. With increased strain on the world’s resources, sustainability is now of mainstream consumer concern. BioFach gave us the chance to integrate with those looking for ethically sourced ingredients for beauty and personal care products. Our traceability, carbon neutrality, FFL (fair trade) and our new FSSC22000 food standard attracted many new enquiries in the demand for our sustainable supply of organic essential and vegetable oils.
We are known for having close involvement with the organic process at every level of the supply chain – (from growing and processing to storage and distribution) we work hard to ensure the organic product and process is protected and all steps are certified. The show was a great platform to raise awareness of our ethos and deliver bespoke solutions to existing and new customers.
We arecertified by the Soil Association for:

Additionally, in order to fulfil international customers’ demands, Earthoil is also certified to NOP organic standards by IMO.

We also showed our aqueous aromas and low allergen oils which suit a variety of applications in the personal care sector. These proved a huge success attracting many new enquiries from customers around the world, including several multi-national brands.
The event always offers a great platform for the personal care ingredient community to learn and interact, and being positioned next to the technical seminar rooms we regularly caught the attention innovative teams.

The Coconut Craze
Coconut has been one of the hottest ingredients this year and its popularity shows no signs of slowing. It grows prolifically across tropical and sub-tropical parts of the world and its oil has been used as an ingredient in personal care, both as a skin moisturiser and hair conditioner for hundreds of years.
As it continues to gather pace in new product launches, we look at where it’s sourced from.
Earthoil supports a virgin coconut oil project in Samoa, run by a not-for-profit women’s foundation. This unique venture is aimed at rebuilding the economic independence of individual villages across the region. The foundation currently works with many family groups, with several virgin coconut oil (VCO) sites already up and running. This means any profit generated from the sale of this material returns to the village and the people within the community.
This week the Javits Convention Center in New York City hosted the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Supplier’s Day trade show event. Supplier’s Day has become one of the must-attend events for anyone in the cosmetic chemistry industry and is a great place for seeking business development, innovation and education.
Earthoil is committed to helping improve the lives of those who are involved with our projects - the 600 + farmers and their families, who work together to decide how fair trade premiums are used.
We are excited to have helped deliver 40 new 3000ltr water tanks to its Tea Tree Farmers in Kenya. The farmers are members of the Kenya Organic Oil Farmers Association (KOOFA) and are the first to benefit from the three year project that will see water tanks issued to all of the 615 farmers they are hoping to support. Over 2000 family members will eventually utilise the new water tanks, hoping to put extra time that is usually used to fetch water into other activities.
